Deputy Whip

A new breed and a younger parliamentarian, Hon. Audu Mustapha was born on Tuesday 5th June, 1973 in Magumeri town of Magumeri Local Government Area of the State. Audu Ganga, as he is popularly called, joined politics shortly after his Secondary Education in 1995.

In his quest for higher education, Hon Audu Mustapha enrolled and obtained Diploma in Business Management at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University {ATBU} Bauchi from 1999 – 2000.

In 2004, he was appointed as Supervisory Councillor and later Caretaker Chairman, both in Magumeri Local Government Council. Realizing his potentials and having met all the requirements of his political party and the electoral body, he answered a clarion called by his constituents to contest for the House of Assembly Seat.

He was overwhelmingly elected as a member of the 7th Borno State House of Assembly in April 2011 on the platform of the All Nigeria People’s Party {ANPP} and re-elected for the second time on the platform of the APC in 2015. At the inauguration of the Hon. House on Monday, 8th June, 2015, he was unanimously nominated as Deputy Whip of the House for a period of four {4} years.

At the end of this second tenure, he was also reelected for the third time in 2019 and maintain his position of Deputy Whip of the House.

To enhance his legislative performance and efficiency, Hon. Audu attended a good number of workshops and seminars both at home and abroad.

He was the Chairman, House Committee on Trade, Investment and Tourism; member House Committees on Selection, Rules and Business; House Service; Justice and FGPC during the 8th Assembly. Currently, Hon. Audu Mustapha is the mouthpiece of the Hon. House, being Chairman, House Committee on Home Affairs, Information and Culture.

Hon. Audu Mustapha travelled widely on both official and private capacities. He likes reading and football and is happily married with children.
