Hon. Dige Mohammed was born in Sigal village of Kala Balge Local Government Area of the state on 25th March 1962. Hon. Dige attended Sigal Primary School from 1969 to 1975, Government Secondary School, Bama from 1975 – 1980 and the prestigious Kaduna Polytechnic from 1981 to 1984 and obtained National Diploma in Land Surveying.
Hon. Dige started his political career when he was elected as Councillor In charge of Finance and Administration from 1988 – 1989; Councillor for Works from 1994 – 2004; appointed as Caretaker Chairman from 2003 to 2004 and elected as Executive Chairman of from 2004 to 2006 all in Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State.
Highly responsible, respected parliamentarian, seasoned Local Government Administrator, was first elected to the Borno State House of Assembly in April, 2007 and subsequently re-elected in April, 2011 and April 2015 respectively to represent the good people of Kala Balge State Constituency.
During these periods, he was the Chairman, House Committees on Land and Survey; Works and Transports; Local Governments and Chieftaincy/Emirate Affairs; Legislative Compliance; Rules and Business as well as member of many House Committees.
Hon. Dige Mohammed, the eldest parliamentarian was unanimously nominated as Leader of the House on 5th January, 2017 following the formal resignation of the former Leader, Hon. Mohammed Zakariya.
In 2019, he was re-elected for the fourth time and maintain his position as leader of the House. He chairs House Committee on Rules and Business as well as Legislative Compliance.
To enhance performance and efficiency, he attended a numbers of seminars, workshops, conferences within and outside the country.
A widely travelled parliamentarian is married with children and likes traveling and reading at his leisure.
